A Scenic Drive
No matter if you’re headed in from San Francisco, Sebastopol, or further north, the journey to Bodega always starts with a beautiful drive past open fields and clusters of forest and roads winding through green hills dotted with wildflowers. As the saying goes, it’s about the journey, not just the destination, so take in the beauty around you and maybe even snap some photos!
Stop at the Market
On your way in, be sure to make a detour at Valley Ford Market in Valley Ford. This cute little general store is the perfect place to grab a fresh muffin and a coffee. While you’re there, pick up some snacks for the beach.
Hit the Beach
Salmon Creek Beach is a great place to relax, get some sun, and watch the surfers. Doran Beach is also a great spot to hang out!
Check out Some Local Shops
Browse the cute little gift shops. If you have a sweet tooth, you can’t miss the bright pink and white striped exterior of Patrick’s Salt Water Taffy. Just a few steps away, you’ll find Harbor View Gifts & Goodies—a perfect place to pick up a souvenir. Or, if you’re looking for kites for the beach, check out Second Wind.
Get Some Seafood
When you’re ready for dinner, go to one of Bodega Bay’s many seafood restaurants. We recommend The Boat House for amazing fish and chips or Spud Point for some great clam chowder.
Watch the Sunset
For a gorgeous sunset, drive up to Bodega Head. Park your car facing the ocean and cozy up under some blankets. Or, stroll along the flat paths along the cliff-side as you watch the orange sun sink behind the horizon.
