Summer is just around the corner and you’re ready to spend time relaxing and being creative. While some think of going to the beach or making lemonade, we think of watching and making movies. The summer is an exciting time at the Alexander Valley Film Society with outdoor movies, drive-ins, and a Summer Film Camp. You don’t want to miss out on the fun.
Outdoor Summer Series in Healdsburg
Once a month on Tuesday nights, the AVFS partners with Healdsburg Community Services to put on this fun event. Gather your loved ones and come enjoy a family-friendly movie in the Plaza. Movies begin after dark, so bring your blankets and lawn chairs and get cozy. The best part is, admission is free. You can find more information here.
Drive-In Series in Cloverdale
Nothing says summertime like a drive-in movie. Come to the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds for pop-up drive-in movies throughout the summer. The evening begins with live music and food, beer, and wine for sale. Then when it gets dark, cozy up in your car with some blankets for the movie. Check back here to buy tickets as the showings get closer.
Summer Film Camp
The Summer Film Camp is a great way for students grades 6-12 to learn about the art of film. There is a beginning and an intermediate bootcamp, each with the outcome of producing a 1-2 minute commercial video. The Beginner Bootcamp runs from 6/17-6/21 and the Intermediate Bootcamp is from 6/24-6/29. Both camps will take place at Cloverdale High School Maker Space from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Each course is $100 and scholarships are also available.
