Sonoma County’s Oldest Festival Comes Back to Town!

A long-standing Sonoma tradition, held at Sonoma Plaza since 1897, continues this month.
Taking place September 27th to September 29th, the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival is celebrating its 122nd year. Each day is filled with food, fun, and education about Sonoma County.

The Event

The event kicks off on Friday at 7PM, with the opening night gala: food, wine, music, and dancing. Saturday’s events, starting at 11AM, are all about wine and beer tasting, art, food, and music. At 8PM there is a parade that people are encouraged to participate in – so make a creative float of your own! Sunday continues the festivities with grape stomping at 12PM, and tops the weekend off with both a 5k and 12k race. Even the kids can join in with their very own “Tiny Tots race.”

Get Involved!

If you’d like to help this nonprofit organization, there are many ways to get involved. Set up a booth of art, food, or games. Wineries are invited to participate in the wine tastings for the public. Feeling creative? Enter a poster of your own making – the winner will be featured and receive a $500 prize!

Free to everyone, the Valley of the Moon Vintage is a great way to get to know Sonoma in a culturally enriching way. Wine tastings, great food options, grape stomping, live music, art exhibits, races, and a parade are just scratching the surface. If you’d like to participate in wine tastings and select events, get your tickets now before it’s too late.
