So, you want to head out to the coast for a day trip but you just can’t bear to leave Fido at home all alone. Don’t worry, we’ve compiled a list of all the best beaches on the Sonoma County coast that will accommodate your furry friend. Marshall Gulch
This long sandy beach welcomes dogs of all ages but asks that owners be especially aware of tide currents. Extending 17 miles from Bodega Bay to Jenner, this usually foggy beach will cool you and your pup down on a hot day.
Duncan’s Landing
At Duncan’s Landing, dogs are certainly allowed but must be kept on a 6-foot leash at all times. You can access this pup friendly beach from Highway 1. Always keep a close watch on the waves there, they can get pretty high.
Portuguese Beach
This scenic beach is perfect for taking a sunset stroll with your pup. It has miles of sand perfect for throwing the old ball around. The water is warm and perfect for wading in the summer. Enjoy the scenic views by walking along the cliffside before heading down to the sand.
