Where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean is the tiny town of Jenner, best known for its beautiful coastline. When you see the rugged cliffs and crashing waves, you’ll be itching to spend a while in this peaceful place. Why not make a day out of it? Here’s your guide to a peaceful day in Jenner.
Authentic Russian Food
When you turn left on the bridge on your way into Jenner, you’ll notice the bright yellow Russian House #1. Inside are cozy wooden tables, Russian décor, and a row of steaming crock pots. The restaurant is owned by three Russian women who live there and cook everything themselves. It is pay by donation, so give by your intuition. You can even call ahead to help cook and learn how to make traditional Russian food.
Coffee by the River

If you’re looking for a good cup of coffee, make sure to stop at Café Aquatica. The cute little coffee house sits right on the edge of the river. Examine the interesting art inside and try one of the specialty drinks, or a classic pour-over. Outside you can find a seat on the wooden deck overlooking the river while you sip your coffee.
Explore the Coastline
Whether you want to hike or just sit and watch the waves, there are many beautiful areas to explore. Visit the famous Goat Rock Beach for gorgeous views and the chance to see Harbor seals. For some other lovely beaches, check out Jenner Beach, Blind Beach, and Russian Gulch State Beach. Many of the beaches have hiking trails along the cliffs. We recommend the Kortum Trail for an easy hike with incredible views.
An Amazing Dinner at Sunset
At River’s End, enjoy a delicious meal with gorgeous views of the Russian River entering the Pacific. This is an especially lovely spot to catch the sunset as you dine.
