Running Your Way Through Sonoma County

Break out those running shoes and start training, its almost marathon season! Sonoma County is the perfect place for a run. Its rolling hills and gorgeous spring to fall weather are why so many races take place here. A half marathon is the perfect way to ease into running while also being able to enjoy the scenery. Mark your calendars for these upcoming races!

Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon: July 17

This 15th annual marathon is described as a “lifestyle experience.” It starts at Cuvaison Carneros Winery and winds around through the Napa and Sonoma valleys. Book a room at the luxurious Carneros Resort and Spa to fully relax and rest after your run.

Santa Rosa Half Marathon: August 27-28th

This race takes you past the picturesque Santa Rosa hills. You can choose between a half or a full marathon. At the end, runners are even treated to a specialty pancake and beer breakfast. This race is in the hotter weather so be prepared to sweat and stay hydrated!

Clo Cow Half Marathon: October 16th

Celebrating the 10th Anniversary, the Clo Cow Half is sponsored by Clover Sonoma dairy farm. You’ll pass a plethora of cute cows roaming through idyllic farmland as you sweat it out. At the finish line each runner receives a clanging cowbell to celebrate. Grab a juicy burger downtown at Sauced Petaluma to reward all your hard work.
