Running and Wining

Who wouldn’t love to be rewarded with a big glass of wine after a long run? This is what the Windsor Run Wine Country Marathon is all about. This wine country event will take place on May 17th at 7:30am. You can choose between a half marathon, a 10k or a 5k, but all roads lead to wine. Join Sonoma County in running through the beauty of the land.

The Run

This Russian River Valley run is so breathtaking it will make you forget you are exercising. You traverse rolling hills surrounded by vineyards and wineries. You’ll be able to experience the beauty of the valley all on foot.

The Wine

At the end of the race, a celebratory festival will be free for all race participants. The festival includes wine (of course) as well as beer, food trucks, and live music. Feel free to consume all the calories you just burned in cheese and cabernet sauvignon. You’ll even receive a custom wine glass for running your hardest.

The Details

Run wine country encourages racers and watchers to park in the Windsor Town Green. All races will be timed with chips and there are plenty of water stations along the way. Registration costs between $30 and $99, depending on your route and age bracket. Prices are increasing as race day approaches. Alternately, crowd-source your entry fee. If you raise $500 for Fit for Equality, you run for free.
