These Performances are Sleigh-ing the Holiday Season

We’ve taken you to some of the coolest Christmas Tree farms, showed you the best places to shop for presents, guided you to some awesome tree lighting ceremonies, and now we’re going to enrich your soul. If you haven’t already, Sonoma, you need to get out and attend a Christmas concert. We’ve found four of the coolest, most culturally enriching, and potentially under-the-radar performances around.

Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley

This holiday season the Spreckels Performing Arts Center in Rohnert Park, is producing The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberly – a sequel to their amaizing “Miss Benett, Christmas at Pemberly” in 2019. The Wickhams is a charming holiday tale that explores the confines of class and the generosity of forgiveness. When? Nov 19th – Dec 12th at 7:30p on Thurs. Fri and Sat and matinee Sunday at 2pm. The Old World Carolers

The United Methodist Church in Sebastopol presents, for the 35th year, “The Old World Carolers.” A beautiful concert highlighting rare European carols. Don’t worry! They provide song sheets so you can sing along. What says ‘holiday spirit’ more than that? December 12th at 4-5pm. Cost: Free Admission. Any donations will go to charity.

Posada Navideña

Presented by Calidanza, Posada Navideña is a celebration of Mexico’s beautiful Christmas traditions. Experience the folk culture of Mexico with dance, music, and song. December 10-12th at 7pm. Cost: Free; Venue: VIRTUAL

Mat & Savanna Shaw: The Joy of Christmas Tour 2021

This famous daddy-daughter duet is guarantee to bring a smile to your face and warmth to oy heart with their “Joy of Christmas” show. The performance will include carols and all those traditional Christmas songs we love but reimagined with fresh and beautiful arrangements. December 14th at 8pm. Cost: $29, children under 12 $10; Venue: Luther Burbank Center.

San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus Holigays Are Here Again!

After a year hiatus the chorus is ready to be back with a bang. Featuring their best pieces from the last 10 years along with new ones – they promise this will be the show of a lifetime. December 18th at 5pm. Cost: $25-$85; Venue: Weill Hall, Green Music Center.

Sonoma Bach Early Music Christmas: Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming

If you are after a more traditional Christmas caroling experience, this is the show for you. The New Oxford Book of Carols, published nearly 30 years ago, is a magisterial collection of songs for Christmas. The program includes arrangements—by both ancient and modern composers. December 18 & 19 at various times. Cost: $15-28; Venue: Schroeder Hall, Green Music Center.

David Koz Christmas Tour 2021

Join world famous saxophone player David Koz for a night of smooth jazz and cheerful Christmas spirit. December 22 at 8pm. Cost: $49-69; Venue: Ruth Finley Person Theater.
