Sonoma Doesn’t Have to be Just for Boozing

Living in Sonoma County means having access to some experiences that other cities, counties, and states just don’t have. If you’re vacationing here with kids, chances are pretty good that they aren’t going to be super happy with visiting winery after winery after winery (although…). So, in this case we’re not talking about our world-class wineries. Watch out for wild animals, learn about Spanish heritage, and have some fun. Give the kids you know the gift of an experience they’ll never forget, Sonoma.

Safari West

Sonoma County is home to a 400-acre preserve called Safari West. You can take a safari adventure among the animals of Africa, right here in California. Or, make it an even greater adventure by staying the night in one of their tents and listening to the sound of wildlife as you fall asleep. How many opportunities will kids have to do that?

Children’s Museum of Sonoma County

The Children’s Museum of Sonoma County offers a place for children to be creative and explore the world in an interactive atmosphere. Kids get hands-on with exhibits and activities that stretch their minds and imaginations. With classes, camps, and workshops – having fun while learning is possible!

Cal Skate Rohnert Park

A rite of passage for everyone, roller-skating is both fun to do and entertaining to watch. Cal Skate is locally owned and family-run. This roller-skating rink has it all, from regular skating, to birthday parties, classes, and fundraisers. Any event or day, you’ll get to skate away. Check this out: $2 admission on Tuesdays for 2 hours at 2pm – what a deal!

Instead of heading to a two-hour movie, try one of these unique and fun experiences with your kids, Sonoma. Educational, intriguing, and enjoyable – your kids will thank you (well, they will when they’re older).
