The Safari Needs Your Help: Donate to Safari West

On the outskirts of Santa Rosa where the city gives way to rolling green hills lies Safari West. There, you can experience an African safari with antelopes, cheetahs, and more, and even stay the night in a luxury tent.

However, while Safari West is an exciting place to vacation, it serves a far greater purpose. Safari West promotes conservation and education to inspire others to take an active role in shaping the future of wildlife.

We share this planet with incredible creatures, yet we pose a threat to their lives through destruction of their habitats. However, with organizations like the nonprofit Safari West Wildlife Foundation, you have the opportunity to help make a difference.

The Wildlife Foundation focuses on three areas: education, conservation, and research to pursue their mission of supporting and protecting wildlife. They believe that these areas are all closely connected and essential to successful outreach.

Education

Change starts with the individual. That is why it is important to educate people from all walks of life about wildlife and conservation. The safari tours are informative and educational, regularly updated with emerging insights. There are also a number of programs aimed at children.

You can read more about the different education programs here.

Conservation

Safari West Wildlife Foundation supports conservation efforts both abroad and at Safari West. Their goal is to protect wildlife and ecosystems, support people who live near threatened wildlife, and advocate wildlife preservation.

Research

Researching influences education and conservation, as new information is shared with guests and used to design new conservation projects.

Safari West’s internship program focuses on ethological (animal behavioral) projects. Research also extends to lab and fieldwork in areas like anatomy, ecology, archaeology, and paleontology.
