Can’t Go to Europe? No Problem, Europe is Just Around the Corner!

We all know the culinary experience plays a huge part in immersing yourself in different cultures. So, if you want to get a taste of some of the beautiful countries on your bucket list without making the trip across the globe, check out some of Sonoma County’s incredible European restaurants!

Russian House #1, Jenner

The lovely Russian House is situated right along the edge of the Russian River, with panoramic views of the water snaking through the mountains. Owned by three Russian women who cook up a new buffet of authentic Russian cuisine every day, it’s a unique set up of self-serve and pay-by-donation.

Negri’s Italian Dinner, Occidental

This family-owned restaurant offers authentic Italian dishes that have been passed down through four generations. Close your eyes– take a bite of house-made pasta and be transported.

Dinucci’s Italian Dinners, Valley Ford

The adorable white house with dark trim started out as a hotel, with rooms upstairs and a dining room downstairs. Now, it continues its tradition as a family-style eatery. With checkered floors and tablecloths and old memorabilia-lined walls, you’ll feel taken back to a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Italy.

La Gare, Santa Rosa

Voted most romantic restaurant by the San Francisco Chronicle, this authentic French restaurant will make you feel like you’re in the City of Love. Enjoy a nice glass of wine and a classic French meal made from only the freshest ingredients. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the escargots!

Stockhome, Petaluma

Aiming to serve Swedish street food– heavily influenced by Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean cultures– Stockhome offers a unique menu with options ranging from classic Swedish meatballs to kebab plates.

La Salette, Sonoma

This cozy little restaurant in Sonoma Square offers authentic Portugese cuisine. Traditional recipes are merged with fresh Sonoma produce to create incredible dishes bursting with flavor. Sit at the wood-burning fireplace and enjoy an unforgettable dining experience.

Toad in the Hole Pub, Santa Rosa

This cozy little pub will make you feel like you’re in a small English town. The service is friendly, the food is cheap, and with classics such as fish & chips and bangers & mash, you’re sure to find something you fancy.
