Are You Tough Enough?

Are You Tough Enough?

Are you up for the challenge? The Iron Man 70.3 is back in town on July 27th. We know you’ve been training for this day all year long… right? This ultimate triathlon takes place in the heart of Sonoma County, and gives racers and watchers access to all the best wine, food, and views of the area. So, whether you’re one of the extreme athletes or just there to support, you’ll be sure to have a good time.

The Race

The Iron Man starts off with a 1.2-mile swim at gorgeous Lake Sonoma. Friends and family of the racers can watch from either end of the lake, or walk around the lake to cheer them on. After the dip is a 56-mile rolling bike ride through the vineyards and towns. The racers will then finish with a half-marathon ending in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa.

The Post-Run Meal

We’re sure you’ll be starving after all that exercise. Grab a brisket burger and a beer at Belly Left Coast, located right downtown. If you’re a Guy Fieri fan, you could check out his world-renowned restaurant Tex Wasabi’s.

The Stay

Lodging won’t be a problem in the area but we do recommend you make reservations ahead of time, as this is a big event and things will fill up fast! Check out Airbnb to find a cozy and quaint cottage in Geyserville, Healdsburg, or Sonoma. If you want to stay near the finish line so you can collapse in bed after the race, check out the Courtyard Santa Rosa Marriott.
