A Day of Funky Music on the Coast

The Fort Ross Festival is where cultures collide on the Sonoma Coast. This quirky festival is all about spending time with family and friends outdoors while learning about the unique practices of different cultures. All ages are welcome. This year, the festival will be held on Saturday July 27th from 10am-6:30 pm.

The Music

The best part about this funky festival is the unique music and dancing on display for all to enjoy. You’ll be able to watch Kashia Pomo ceremonial dancing, sing along to folky bluegrass by the group the Dirty Cello, and dance to an authentic Russian orchestra. It’s truly a treat to be able to broaden your musical horizons at this special event.

The Fun

Kids will love the (free) horse and carriage rides or the Russian storytelling. All ages will enjoy getting crafty by learning to weave your own basket or rope. For the more athletic, join in a game of wrestling or tug-of-war.

The Food and Drink

While the kiddos learn some new crafts, adults can hang awhile at the beer garden right by the water. Enjoy the views of the Pacific while you sip on beer from Lagunitas, Bear republic, and North Coast Brewing. When your stomach starts to growl, head over to the Food Bazaar to try out the Russian borscht or Indian samosas.
