Summertime in Sonoma County is one of our favorite times of year. The weather is warmer, the days are longer, and the farmers markets are in full swing. From fresh local produce to arts and crafts to live music, Sonoma County farmers markets have it all. While some operate year-round, we’re highlighting some of our favorite seasonal ones. Kick off the summertime by checking out these seven farmer’s markets.
The Valley of the Moon Certified Farmers Market is back. Held in the historic Sonoma Plaza, there is local produce as well as food trucks, artisan products like soap and jewelry, and even live music. It is held on Tuesday evenings May 7th to September 24th from 5:30 pm to dusk.
Start your summer festivities with the Cotati Community Farmers Market. From fresh produce to kids’ activities to live music, there’s something for everyone. The farmers market is held Thursdays from 4:30-7:30 pm June 6th-Aug 29th (excluding July 4th) in La Plaza Park.
The city of Santa Rosa has four farmers markets, but we’re highlighting the popular Santa Rosa Wednesday Night Market. This local favorite has been operating for over 30 years and receives an average of 8000 attendees a night. Come shop local produce and enjoy the craft wine and beer garden and lively entertainment. It is held Wednesday nights May 5th to Aug 28th from 5:00-8:30 pm in the Courthouse Square.
Come enjoy Friday night out at the Rohnert Park Farmers Market. Come support the community, enjoy live music, and buy some fresh fruits and veggies. It is held from June 7th to Aug 30th (excluding July 5th) from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Rohnert Park Plaza.
Petaluma has four farmers markets but we’re calling attention to the Wednesday Night Farmers Market. Held in the Theatre Square, the market features fresh produce, live music, and even pony rides for the kids. Come check it out on Wednesdays from June 5th to Aug 28th from 4:30-8:00 pm.
Healdsburg has two farmers markets. Be sure to check out the summer Tuesday Farmers Markets held from May 28th to September 24th. Along with produce and crafts, there are also educational demos, live music, and more. You shouldn’t miss out on this fun community event, held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Healdsburg Plaza downtown.
The Bodega Bay Community Farmers Market is back for another amazing season. Held behind the Bodega Bay Community Center, there will be fresh produce, artisan products, arts and crafts, and live music. There is also space for dancing and a large field to run around and play. The farmers market is Sundays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm from Memorial Day through October. Come hang out and support the community.
